First-Year Student & Pre-Pharmacy? Yup.
When she was a sophomore in high school, Jessica TenBrink made the bold decision that she wanted to become a pharmacist. With Alfred University's partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), choosing the right college for undergraduate study was easy. She didn’t want to compromise on her other interests, though; an equestrian, sports-lover, and soccer player, Jessica found that she could prepare for medical school and do the extracurricular activities that she loved, all at AU. She also knew that the university’s small class sizes would give her the personalized faculty attention she’d need to excel.
Jessica is a pre-med first-year student majoring in chemistry, and she’s already been accepted into AU’s partnership pathway to LECOM (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine), a program that helps aspiring medical students earn their professional degrees. Once Jessica completes her undergraduate study at Alfred, she’ll transition into LECOM’s School of Pharmacy where she’ll receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree after finishing her training.
In her classes at Alfred so far, Jessica has loved being in the lab learning about how drugs and chemicals work and interact with each other in the body. Outside of her studies, she is a hunt seat, western and dressage equestrian.
